Meet the Chef
Lucy Wright is the founder and owner of Panda Pastries who strives to innovate new desserts.
As a child, baking box cakes and store bought icing with my mom for my sisters birthdays every year, slowly and surely ignited my passion for baking. I always had this gut feeling where I just knew I belonged in the Culinary world and I was lucky enough to realize this talent before I even knew being a Chef was a career. I studied Culinary Arts at J. Everett Light Career Center in Highschool and placed nationally in the Skills USA Commercial Baking Competition.
In 2021 I had the amazing opportunity to be apart of opening Monterey Coastal Cuisine in Carmel as their Pastry Chef. Bringing innovative original desserts to the table is a dream come true. Through Monterey, I was able to partner with Carmel Culinary Boosters in their annual Cheftacular event, where budding culinarians are paired with top chefs all over Carmel to learn and compete for a scholarship to a renowned Culinary College. Panda Pastries and students took first place in 2021 & 2023 earning them a well deserved scholarship and we look forward to next years competition!
I have been partnering with Chef Bill Gruesser's, Serendipity Mobile Food Catering as his Pastry Chef and was really incentivized to move forward with my plans of having my own business. Hearing from some of the most talented chef's around tell me they love what I do, solidified my ground to step up and become a mentor, innovator, and now business owner.
